David D. Schuster, MBA, CFA
President and CEO
David Schuster, one of the founding owners of Adroit Investment Management Ltd., is Portfolio Manager for the Canadian Equity Portfolio. Prior to the founding of Adroit, David held several positions at TELUS Corporation, including Director of Pension Investments, Director of Investor Relations, and Portfolio Manager of Equities. He has over 30 years of investment experience.

Maria K. Holowinsky, CFA
Executive Vice-President
Maria joined the Adroit team in 1996. Maria is an owner in the firm, and the Portfolio Manager of the Non-Canadian Equity Portfolio. Maria’s background includes experience with the Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund (portfolio manager of Foreign and Canadian Equities and member of the Investment Strategy Committee), as well as with Canada Trust (Investment Officer). Maria is active on various boards in the Edmonton area, and is a founding board member of the PRIME program at the University of Alberta.

Linnea McKercher, MBA, CFA

Linnea joined Adroit in 2002, and is a Portfolio Manager for the Canadian Equity Portfolio. Linnea’s background includes work with the Investment Management Division of Alberta Revenue as an Equity Trader, and as an Equity Analyst. Linnea has over 10 years of investment experience.

Malcolm J. Jones, MBA, CFA
Vice-President
Malcolm joined Adroit in 2005, and is a Portfolio Manager for the Fixed Income Portfolio. Previous to that, he worked in the Pension Investments department of TELUS Corporation working with both fixed income and Canadian equity securities. Malcom has over 15 years of investment experience.

Valmon A. Vaillant, MBA, CFA
Portfolio Manager
Val Vaillant, one of the founding owners of Adroit Investment Management, serves as Portfolio Manager of the Fixed Income and Non-Canadian Equity portfolios. Before the inception of Adroit in 1993, Val served as President and Chief Investment Officer at Managed Investments Ltd.. Previously, Val held positions as a Portfolio Manager at Domtar Inc. and Investment Analyst at Ontario Hydro. Val has over 30 years of investment experience.

Matt Evans
Director - Business Development
Matt joined Adroit in 2010 as the Director of Business Development. Prior to joining Adroit, Matt worked in private wealth management as an Investment Advisor at CIBC Wood Gundy, Matt has more than 8 years of experience in business development and client relations.
